How to Reset Metin2 Pvp Server (Delete Character and Account)?
Metin2 PVP server owners need to reset the server (wipe) when starting a new season, transitioning from the beta period to the official opening, or when they want to clear all player data in the game. It is possible to just delete the characters and leave the accounts, or clear everything completely. Here are the steps to safely reset your server.
Important Warning: Make a Backup Before Processing!
Resetting is an irreversible process. In order not to accidentally delete object market data or admin accounts, you must use Putty before the process.sh /root/backup.shBack up your tables with the command or via Navicat.
Method 1: Deleting Only Characters (Accounts and Memberships Remain)
If you only want to reset your players' characters, levels and items in the game, without touching the membership accounts they opened on the site, follow these steps:
- Connect to the server via Putty and
sh close.shClose the game completely with (If the reset is done while the game is open, the data will be deleted and will not be reset). - Open the Navicat program and "player" enter the database.
- Right click on the tables below and Empty Table Empty them by selecting (Truncate):
player(Character information)item(All items on players and in the warehouse)guild,guild_member,guild_grade(Guild data)affect(Bonus such as active dew and dragon god on characters)quest_matrix,safebox,marriage(Storage, marriage and mission records)
Method 2: Full Reset (Accounts, Characters and Everything Will Be Deleted)
If you want to leave not a single account registered on the server and want everything to start from scratch, you should also clear the membership tables in addition to the player tables:
- Navicat "account" Log in to the database.
accountright click on the table Empty Table say. This action deletes all player memberships.
*(Note: If you do not want your own administrator (GM) account to be deleted, you must open a new membership on your site after cleaning and define GM authority for yourself again in the Navicat `common -> gmlist` table.*- In method 1 above "player" Empty all tables in the database in the same way.
Step 3: Clearing Logs and Opening the Game After Resetting
After clearing the database, we must also clear the system logs and start the game so that the server does not try to search for old data and lag:
- Connect to Putty terminal and run the log clearing command:
cd /usr/game && sh clear.sh - After log cleaning is completed,
rebootthrow it away. When the server opens, your game will be completely zero as on the first day.
