Knight Online ODBC Settings and SQL Server Connection Guide
One of the most critical stages in Knight Online private server installations is ODBC configuration. Incorrect ODBC settings cause login server and game server connection errors.
What is ODBC?
ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is the connection system that allows Knight Online server files to communicate with the SQL Server database.
If ODBC is configured incorrectly:
- Server does not open
- Login fails
- GameServer gives error
- DB Agent connection is lost
Where to Open ODBC Settings?
On your Windows server:
ODBC Data Sources (32-bit)
Open the application.
Since most of the Knight Online server files run in 32-bit, 32-bit ODBC must be used.
Creating New ODBC
- Enter the System DSN tab
- Click on the Add button
- Select SQL Server
- Enter the server IP address
What Should ODBC Names Be Like?
Commonly used ODBC names:
- ACCOUNT_DSN
- GAME_DSN
- LOG_DSN
SQL Authentication Setting
By selecting SQL Authentication:
- SQL username
- SQL password

do the operation.
Common Errors
- SQL Server service is turned off
- Incorrect SQL password
- Firewall obstacle
- TCP/IP is disabled
Firewall Setting
For SQL Server usually:
1433 TCP
The port must be open.
