In Windows Server-based games (Knight Online, Silkroad, Minecraft, etc.) or web servers, certain ports must be open for external players to connect to the server. At the same time, you should block malicious IP addresses that harm the server through the firewall. Here's how to use Windows Advanced Firewall.

Part A: Opening Ports in Windows Advanced Firewall

Part B: Completely Blocking a Malicious IP Address from Incoming Traffic

  • again Inbound Rules > New Rule follow the steps. This time the rule type private Select as (Custom).
  • Click Next until you reach the "Scope" step. On the scope page "To which remote IP addresses does this rule apply?" Check the "Following IP addresses" option under the option and Add Press the button.
  • Type the attacker IP address you want to block and click OK.
  • In the next step "Block Connection" Check the (Block the connection) option. Save the rule by naming it "Malicious IP Ban". That IP's access to the server will be completely cut off.
